People from all over the world have settled here, grown up here, fallen in love, raised their children and lived their lives here. My immediate peeps are a crayola box of colors and include Taiwanese, Indian, white, black, Vietnamese, Bulgarian, Bosnian, Ethiopian, Chinese …the list goes on. One of the reasons I don’t know if I can live anywhere else is that so many places don’t have the diversity that you find here.
I’m a black girl myself and along with having a diverse group of friends, I have pretty much always dated outside of my race. I grew up on the east coast and overseas before settling in CA and other than my father and brother, I honestly wasn’t around many black men.
I met my boyfriend and love f my life on the online site, Craigslist, a little over 4 years ago and we’ve been together ever since.
We have three crazy cats that are our children, and just bought a house.
Swirl is a portrait photography project showcasing interracial couples in the San Francisco Bay Area (Northern California)!
It’s been increasing greatly over the past 10 years or so and it’s such a beautiful thing to see.A few months ago, I started talking with a few writers who specialize in IR books (my friend got me hooked), and I heard them complaining that there were a lack of good images of interracial couples online.
